På hjemmesiden swedenmark.dk ved Søren Wendt er citeret flere breve fra ham til hans bror Robert i USA og andre breve: As a young man he went to Omsk, Siberia, representing a company for which he was working in Copenhagen. He later started in business for himself - export and import -and was doing well until the Bolsheviks came along, after throwing out the Czar. They robbed him of his business and property, and so he moved to Harbin, China [Manchuria], where he started up again (omkring 1920). Here he also did well until the Japanese came along, but he again recuperated by putting his faith in American dollars, while everybody else was playing up to the Japanese. Everything was fine, until the Bolsheviks, now under the name of Communists, appeared a second time. That was too much for him, so he...came back to Denmark..."
